This Cookie Policy explains how Reciprocity LLC, doing business as Recip.club ("we," "us," "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at https://www.recip.club or use the platform at https://app.recip.club.
Read it alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains what we do with personal information generally.
The short version
Our website and our platform are different, and we treat them differently.
On the website at recip.club — the marketing pages, where anyone can browse — we use analytics cookies to understand what people read and where they came from. You choose whether to accept them, and nothing loads until you do.
Inside the platform at app.recip.club — where you sign in to make and manage reciprocal requests — we use only what is needed to keep you signed in and secure, plus first-party product analytics that show us how the platform is used. There is no consent banner there, because there is nothing to consent to beyond running the service you signed in to use.
We do not run advertising cookies anywhere. No ad networks, no retargeting pixels, no cross-site advertising profiles.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things between page loads — that you are signed in, or which options you chose. Similar technologies, including pixels, local storage, and software development kits in mobile apps, do comparable jobs, and everything in this policy applies to them too.
Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company through that site are third-party cookies — those companies can recognize your device when it visits other sites that use them too.
How to control cookies
On recip.club, use the cookie banner when you first arrive, or open the preference center any time from the link in the site footer. You can accept or reject each category. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off, because the site does not work without them.
If you reject analytics cookies, the site still works. We simply have less information about how it is used.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we honor it automatically as an opt-out under applicable US state privacy laws. You do not need to do anything else.
Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Doing so affects every site, not just ours, and may break features elsewhere. Instructions: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.

Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — scrolls, clicks, and mouse movement — so we can see where the website confuses people. It runs on our marketing website only. It is not present inside the platform, and it never records member records, requests, or reservations.
Product analytics — platform only
These run inside app.recip.club for signed-in users, as part of operating the service.

PostHog also records sessions inside the platform so we can diagnose problems. Text and form inputs are masked by default, so what a session recording shows is the shape of the interaction — which buttons were pressed, which screens were visited — rather than the content of member records, notes, or reservations.
We rely on our legitimate interest in operating and improving a service you have signed in to use, rather than on cookie consent, for this. If you would prefer to be excluded, email legal@recip.club and we will opt your account out.
Mobile app
The Recip.club mobile app does not use cookies. It stores an authentication token in your device's secure keychain, keeps some information locally so the app works when your connection is poor, and — if you allow notifications — holds a push token so we can reach you. The app contains no advertising or cross-app tracking technology, and it does not request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Pixels and similar technologies
We use tracking pixels in some marketing emails to tell us whether a message was opened and which links were clicked. This helps us judge whether the messages are useful. Unsubscribe from any marketing email and we stop sending them, and the pixels go with them. Service messages about your requests and your account contain no tracking pixels.
Targeted advertising
We do not serve targeted advertising, and we do not permit anyone else to serve it through our Services. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws.
Keeping this policy accurate
The tables above are the complete list of cookies we set, and we maintain them by hand rather than generating them. We review this policy whenever we add, remove, or change a tracking technology, and update the tables in the same change. If you find a cookie on our Services that is not listed here, please tell us at legal@recip.club — that is a mistake we want to fix.
The "last updated" date at the top of this policy shows when we last reviewed it.
